Jeffrey M. Furr has been practicing law since 1993, after receiving his
Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School. Jeff
also has a Bachelor of Science in Computer and
Informational Science from the College of Engineering from
The Ohio State University and a Master of Business
Administration from Capital University and an advance
Legal Degree in Taxation from Capital University.
He provides legal assistance to clients involving legal
research, writing and opinions. As an Intellectual Property
Attorney, his areas of practice include, but are not limited
to, patents, trademarks, copyrights, computer licensing,
trade secrets, non-compete agreements, taxation, business
formation and incorporations, and business contract.
He has served as an expert witness for both Intellectual
Property and Tax issues. His volunteer work includes
assisting as a mediator in Franklin County Courts of
Common Pleas' Settlement Week.
Jeff also has considerable experience filing and prosecuting
Patent, Copyright and Trademark Applications. This
experience includes electronic filing, filing PCT international
applications, Continuation-In-Part applications, Provisional
Applications, Utility Patent Applications, Design Patent
Applications, Intent- to-Use Applications and Use
Applications. This experience includes the handling and
responding to Office Actions, the filing and defending of
Oppositions to Trademarks and the dealing with the WIPO
on Domain Names disputes.
His litigation experience includes being involved in
numerous suits over Copyright, Patent, Unfair Competition
and Trade Secret Issues.
Jeff has also handled the Legal Matters of Internet and Non-
Internet Start-up Companies, including structuring their
Intellectual Property Portfolios to maximize the company's
worth and security. He has negotiated and written hundreds
of IP Contracts.
